Born on the 25th September 1943 to Esther Balmer and George Leslie Davenport, Dorothy Lynn Davenport. Sister to Edward (Ted),Elizabeth (Beth) and later Lesley. Dorothy (Mam) had a love of horses and would spend all her spare time working in the local stables. At the age of 17 she left home in Gateshead and moved to Great Horwood to work for the National Hunt, where she met and later married Peter Dominey on the 26th May 1962. In May 1964 she gave birth to Christopher George Dominey, followed in June 1965 by Hazel Lesley Elizabeth Dominey. In March 1966 the family moved back to the North East and started a new life in Medomsley, Nr Consett on a farm.
